CAFÉ RACER:
The bike that started the matte black revolution is now even more coffee house avant garde. This year the Bad Boy has a solo Lefty rigid fork. Because the front wheel bolts on, it gives better theft protection in urban environments.

THE ORIGINAL BLACK BIKE:
A decade ago, Cannondale mechanics and product managers developed a bike that could swap disc-equipped 26-inch wheels with 700c wheels. Originally, it was a race-one-day, train-the-next-day bike for our XC racers. Then we painted it matte black and sold it to the masses. Since then, black bikes have become de rigeur.

DISC VERSATILITY:

Disc brake-equipped models of the Bad Boy give riders sure-footed braking in all weather. They also allow riders to swap wheelsets. Want a road ride? Use 700c wheels. Going on a trail ride? Swap out the 700c slicks for 26-inch knobbies.
